Part of the reason why I have decided to take up blogging again was because lately, there have been so much commotions in my life and I feel the need to vent and record down my happening life. It's also because Amelia posted a heartwarming dedication post and it suddenly struck me to do the same in order to give my friends their well deserved appreciation from me.
Many a times, we are simply dead set in what we have lost, what we don't have or what we can have. It puzzles me, how we can entirely forget about what we currently possess, let alone give thanks for them.
Often, I find myself looking back upon what I call the good old days and I reminisce about the joy and fulfillment that those days had brought me. Although, things change, people change, that's how the game of life is, nothing remains the same forever.
Thankfully, I have personally come to a consensus and I have finally started to be able to let go. It was not too long ago that it was as if I had a vice grip on the past, constantly overwhelmed by anger or sorrows about how things didn't go the way I hoped for it to. Truly, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." (Psalms 34:18)
Putting a little thought into it, it made me realised that I really have countless things to be thankful for. I'm thankful for a peaceful and happy family, for friends who are encouraging and thoughtful, for a cohesive and supportive team and superiors in camp etc. Even something as menial as being able to sit in my cozy and air-conditioned room with a cup of hot tea within my reach to type this post is worth an appreciation. Shalom. Thanks be to God for it all.
Furthermore, having a heart of thanksgiving really pales all worries and other negative emotion or thoughts. It just seems as though, "Hey, in light of *this and this* that I have in my life, *negative thoughts* actually don't seem that bad."
In times of ordeal, we should also be thankful by having faith that whatever adversaries in our lives will ultimately be conquered. Hardships only last for a season,
"For everything there is a season, a time for every matter under heaven. He has made everything beautiful in its time." (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11)
HAHA I know I know, I told Amelia that I will post a dedication, I will do so tomorrow alright? Take this post as an opening post for my return to this blog.
